How it works

How the directory works

1. Read the city page for your area. Each one names the state boards that issue counseling licenses, with links to their official lookups, and covers local options. 2. Decide on the kind of help. Couples counseling, premarital counseling, discernment counseling or mediation: our guides explain the difference. 3. Request an introduction. When requests are open in your city, either partner sends one request. A coordinator introduces you to one independent provider serving the area. 4. Talk to the provider directly. You discuss fit, format and fees with them, and you decide together whether to book. The directory takes no part in sessions.

What the directory doesn't do

CivilCouplesCounseling doesn't provide counseling or mediation, check licenses, rank providers or give legal guidance. Please check any counselor's license on your state's official lookup before your first session.

What it costs you

Nothing. Any sponsored listing is labelled on the page where it appears.

Your information

When requests open, your details go to one provider only, and are never sold. See the Privacy Policy.

Find a couples counselor

Either partner can send one request. A coordinator introduces you to one independent provider serving your area (a therapist, a discernment counselor or a private mediator), and you decide together whether to book.

Introduction requests for this city aren't open on this site yet. The guides and city pages are free to read.
